GENEVO PRO II and PRO II DUO Specifications (US)

The GENEVO PRO II is a custom-installed radar detector: its HDM+ radar antenna sits behind the front bumper, and alerts appear on a removable magnetic control panel with a color OLED display. The GENEVO PRO II DUO adds a second HDM+ antenna at the rear and directional arrows. GENEVO America sells both in the US and Canada through authorized GENEVO dealers, who install them: the PRO II has an MSRP of $1,899 and the PRO II DUO $2,299. Both get a 3-year warranty when a certified GENEVO dealer installs and registers them.

Which radar bands do the GENEVO PRO II and PRO II DUO detect?

Both detect the K band (24.125 GHz) and the Ka band (33.4–36.0 GHz) used by police radar in the US and Canada, police laser at 904 nm, and the low-power photo enforcement radars MultaRadar CD/CT, Gatso RT3/RT4, Stalker Phodar 3D, Redflex NK7 and Redflex HALO used in parts of Canada and in some US cities. Each of the 4 Ka segments can be switched on or off on its own, and on the PRO II DUO every band setting is made separately for the front and the rear antenna.

Which direction does the PRO II DUO show?

The GENEVO PRO II DUO has 2 HDM+ radar antennas, one at the front and one at the rear, processed by the same radar module. Directional arrows on the color OLED display show whether a radar signal comes from ahead or from behind, together with the band, the frequency and the signal strength in 9 levels. The single-antenna GENEVO PRO II shows the same alert information without arrows.

How do the PRO II and PRO II DUO filter false alerts?

K filterHigh, Low or Off; filters false K-band alerts
Ka filterHigh, Normal or Off; suppresses Ka-band false alerts from sources other than police radar
MultaRadar filterHigh, Low or Off; filters false MultaRadar alerts from cars with blind spot assist or adaptive cruise control, with slightly lower MultaRadar sensitivity
Sensitivity modesHighway (full sensitivity); City (ignores K or Ka signals up to a strength you set, 0–9); Auto City (silent below a speed you set, City in a middle speed range, full sensitivity above it)
Minimum speedNo radar alerts below a speed you set, or Off
LockoutsManual: hold the Brightness button during a false alert to lock out that location. No automatic GPS lockouts. Lockout Reset deletes all lockouts.

How do the PRO II and PRO II DUO handle police laser?

The GENEVO PRO II and PRO II DUO detect police laser at 904 nm passively, like the GENEVO MAX: an IR sensor is hidden in the HDM+ radar antenna. A laser gun measures speed in under a second, so the alert often comes too late to slow down.

How is the system installed?

A certified GENEVO dealer installs the GENEVO PRO II and PRO II DUO, and the exact positions depend on the car model and its bumper. The HDM+ radar antenna goes behind the plastic front bumper or the front grille, ideally 12–20 in (30–50 cm) above the ground and never behind metal; on the PRO II DUO a second HDM+ antenna goes into the rear bumper.

How are the PRO II and PRO II DUO updated?

Both are updated over USB-C from a Windows PC or a Mac at genevoupdate.com; an update takes about 5–7 minutes, and the control panel must stay attached until it finishes. GENEVO releases a new US and Canada camera database every month, and the system reminds you at startup when its database is out of date. Firmware and database updates are free for life, with no subscription; the steps are on the Updates and Support page.

Is a radar detector legal where I drive?

Radar detectors are legal in passenger vehicles in most of the US. They are banned in Virginia and Washington, D.C., in commercial vehicles over 10,000 lbs anywhere in the US and on military bases, and they are prohibited in several Canadian provinces, including Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba. Check the rules where you drive before you buy; see the Legal use section of our terms.
