INSTALLATION IN ELECTRIC VEHICLES
A certified GENEVO dealer selects the antenna and display locations for the vehicle. Installation depends on the model and bumper design.
POWER AND INSTALLATION
The GENEVO PRO II and PRO II DUO run on 11–24 V DC and are wired to the car by a certified GENEVO dealer.
RADAR DETECTORS IN TESLA's
The system is installed with regard to the minimalist interior and user comfort. The installation is carried out carefully and everything is connected in a way to minimize interference with the vehicle. At 12 V, the GENEVO PRO II draws 250 mA (about 3 W) and the PRO II DUO 300 mA, so the effect on battery consumption is negligible.
Some electric cars have a metal-coated (heat-reflective) windshield for better thermal comfort and lower energy consumption, and it drastically reduces the range of a portable radar detector. For more information on how to recognize these windows, read the article on metal-coated windows. The solution for cars with a metal-coated windows is a built-in set with a radar antenna mounted behind the front bumper, such as the GENEVO PRO II system.
