GENEVO PROTECTOR II

USER MANUAL

PROTECTOR

INTRODUCTION

Dear customer,

Thank you for purchasing the most advanced system of its type on the market. This unique product is a universal assistant for drivers and was developed based on many years of experience, it fills significant market gaps by bringing a number of new functions, parameters, and options never used before in the field of Radar detectors.

During the development of the GENEVO PROTECTOR II system, particular attention was paid to the specific requirements of users from the Czech Republic. However, this of course does not mean that it would not be possible to use it elsewhere in Europe, it's quite the opposite. We focused on developing the best-performing product, which works flawlessly in each European country.

The system is composed of several "modules" that can be combined as desired. The PROTECTOR II radar part uses the most advanced methods for suppressing false alerts, it is the market's number one in the detection of Ka-band radars, and it excels in the detection of all bands and modern 3D radars used by the police across Europe.

You may also be interested in several other functions, such as an online database of mobile radars and police patrols, an automatic update of the GPS database that includes section speed cameras, red-light cameras, and other POIs, an integrated GPS log book, voice signaling localized in several languages, the possibility of completely discreet and custom installation, legal usage across the EU, and more.

All system parameters can be set using the simple and intuitive GENEVO PROTECTOR II web interface at the link: SETUP.GENEVO-PROTECTOR.COM, which brings a new level of comfort and individual setting options to the user.
We believe that you will be satisfied with this unique product, and drive many joyful and stress-free kilometers.

Warning: When using this system, no one and nothing authorizes you to violate traffic regulations, especially the maximum permitted speed on roads and highways!

If you have of any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your authorized dealer.

SYSTEM FEATURES

RADAR ANTENNA

  • As soon as the radar antenna catches the microwave signal transmitted by the police radar, a sound alert will be triggered accompanied by a voice warning, for example: "Ka radar". The LED on the control button changes color from green to flashing red, in the case of a capacitive button, the signaling LED flashes blue and the intensity of the sound warning is stepped up adequately according to the intensity of the received signal.

LASER MODULE / PARKING ASSISTANT (optional accessory):

  • As soon as the sensor catches the laser beam emitted from the laser gun, a sound alert will be triggered, accompanied by a voice warning: “Laser”. If you have set the jamming time for 1-9 seconds, either wait for the jamming to turn off automatically, or similarly to the case when you have set a permanent jamming, turn it off manually by pressing the control button (You can change the duration of the jamming in the web interface).

  • The system can also interpret the function of a parking assistant if the connected laser module allows this function.

GPS - JOURNEY LOGBOOK

  • Thanks to the GPS module, the system continuously saves all driving data, complete information about the location, speed of the vehicle, etc. Thanks to this data the log book can be a great helper for tax records purposes. Of course, it is possible to select private or business trips in the system menu, but also to switch this function off completely.

  • If you receive a speed ticket and you are not sure whether you have committed the offense, you can easily check. In a few seconds, you can find out from your system's records via the PROTECTOR web interface at what speed your vehicle was traveling and whether it was even at the alleged location at the time in question. Of course, you can also see whether the speed was actually measured at the location at that time.

GPS - DATABASE

  • The GPS unit continuously compares the current position with the stored database to inform the user of important locations. The messages for the individual alert categories from the GPS database can be easily deactivated. The database can also be easily updated automatically.

For example, the system alerts you to:

  • Section speed cameras: (message: "Caution! Section speed cameras"). You are alerted when you exceed the speed limit in the measured section (alert can be deactivated) and informed of your average speed after the measured section (alert can be deactivated).
  • Red light cameras: You will never miss an orange light again! The database contains locations where automatic red light camera checks are carried out, so you will always be informed in time with the voice alert "Caution! Red light camera" before the location.
  • Stationary speed cameras and radars: (message: "Caution! Speed camera"), if you drive through a place where there is a stationary radar, the system will inform you in time and you will be able to adjust your speed smoothly.
  • Mobile patrol locations: (voice alert: "Mobile patrol"), the system will always inform you in advance of mobile patrol locations based on the cooperation with other PROTECTOR II systems, records in the database, and the unique algorithm for managing these mobile points.

INTERPRETATION OF FUNCTIONS

INTERPRETATION OF SOUND ALERTS

  • The system recognizes two preset volume values. Standard and reduced. In standard mode, a loud alert will sound to an approaching speed measurement (radar and laser alerts are different) or to points in the GPS database (e.g. section speed cameras). The red LED on the control button will flash simultaneously, or in the case of a capacitive button, the signaling LED flashes blue during this alert.

  • During a radar alert, you can briefly press this button to reduce the alert volume to "reduced", if you press this button repeatedly for a short time, you will completely switch off the sound messages and alerts for the specific radar - the MUTE function, for a laser alert, will deactivate the laser module with the first press (for 30 seconds). The next alert will be interpreted again at the original (operating) volume. If you have set the same values for the standard and muted volume, the sound messages for the radar alert will be switched off during the first press of the button - the MUTE function.

GPS PRESET POINTS ALERTS

  • As you approach a point whose coordinates are stored in the database, the system will alert you that you are approaching the point by a voice alert - a specific point name, for example, "Caution, section speed cameras" or "Speed camera!".

SYSTEM CONTROL

SWITCHING ON THE SYSTEM

  • The system is activated when the vehicle is started or by a short press of the control button (depending on the wiring in the vehicle). Each time the system is switched on, it will play a start-up sound. During the start-up, the LED flashes red, then lights up red, and after a successful start, the LED changes color and flashes green, as soon as the device is ready for use it turns on a steady green light. With the capacitive button, the signaling LED flashes blue during startup and turnes off when the system is ready.

SWITCHING OFF THE SYSTEM

  • To switch off the system, turn off the ignition key or hold down the control button (depending on the wiring in the vehicle). When switching off the system by pressing the button, the system informs you with the message "Turn off the system". When you hear this message, release the control button and the system will switch off with a shutdown sound.

SYSTEM MENU

  • The user menu is accessed by holding the control button (when the system is switched on) - the LED will light up red. The system will always tell you the functions that can be changed in words. When you release the control button, the function is changed, the system switches back to standard mode and the LED lights up green. In the case of a capacitive button, the operation is the same and each time a change is made, the signaling LED flashes blue. The system always confirms the change with a confirmation message.

SCROLLING THROUGH MENU

As explained above, you can scroll through these menu functions by holding the control button:

REPORT A POLICE UNIT *
  • If you have enabled the online reporting function, you can use the button to save a mobile police patrol.
*(This feature is disabled by default and can be enabled in PROTECTOR app)
TURN OFF THE SYSTEM
  • Hold down the button, until you hear "Turn off the system". Once you hear this alert, release the control button and the system will deactivate. If you do not let go of the button, you continue to the next function.
CHANGE VOLUME
  • Next in the user menu is the "Change volume" item: you have a choice of standard and reduced. When you release the button, the system will tell you either "standard" or "reduced" and then "set ". This setting is particularly useful if you are traveling with a sleeping child or if you do not wish to be disturbed too much by the system.
CHANGE RADAR FILTERS
  • Next in the user menu is the "Change radar filters" item: you can choose between "OFF", "LOW" and "HIGH". This setting is particularly useful for driving in areas with higher microwave noise (especially if you have activated radar bands for Europe, where there are more unwanted microwave sources - false alerts. Keep in mind that the stronger the filter you have activated, the worse detection you will have with real radar.
CHANGE RADAR SETTINGS
  • There are three options to choose from: PRESET 1, PRESET 2, CUSTOM SETTINGS. This function is used to turn off/on certain radar bands.
CHANGE JOURNEY TYPE *
  • Next in the user menu is the item "Change journey type". You can choose from a private or a business trip. After releasing the button, the system will notify you if either a "business trip" or a "private trip" was set. This setting is particularly useful for electronic logbook purposes.
*(This feature is disabled by default and can be enabled in PROTECTOR app)
CHANGE LASER SETTINGS
  • This function is used to turn the laser module on and off. After holding down the control button, the system will first give you a voice warning: "Change laser settings". When you hear this message, release the control button, and the laser module will power on or power off. If you do not release the button, you continue to the next function.
  • Under normal circumstances, the LED on the control button system lights up green, if the LED flashes red, it means that one of the modules is deactivated[1].
DISABLE / ENABLE ONLINE CONNECTION *
  • This function is for enabling or disabling online connection. The system will turn off all the tracking features and updates. All other functions are still active.
*(This feature is disabled by default and can be enabled in PROTECTOR app)
EXIT MENU
  • This message is only used to exit the menu, selecting it will not change any settings. All functions available from the user menu (including other functions) can be easily changed using the PROTECTOR web interface. Through the web interface, you can also turn off and on the presence of individual user voice menu items.
SYSTEM DEACTIVATED
  • In some countries, the use of laser or radar modules of the system, or even the interpretation of GPS points, is illegal. Therefore, the system can permanently deactivate these functions and thus ensure the legality of the entire system, for example in cases of driving abroad.
  • To deactivate the system, press the control button 6 times in a row. The system will give a voice warning "Deactivating the system" and the system will turn off permanently. Reactivation can be done using the "PROTECTOR II" web interface in the Tools: Settings / General /EMERGENCY BLOCK. In the same tab, the system can be blocked.

SYSTEM SETUP

  • You can easily change all the functions of the system using the GENEVO PROTECTOR II web interface. You can log in to the mentioned settings using the "serial number" and "login password", which you can find on the card included in the package.
  • You can also log in to the web interface using your google account, you can pair and manage several cars under one account.

ERROR MESSAGES AND SYSTEM FAILURES

If the LED of the control button lights up green after start-up (lasts approx. 15 seconds), all the functions of the system are active and everything is ready. In the case of a capacitive button, the blue LED flashes when the system starts and then turns off.

RADAR ANTENNA DISCONNECTION

  • If the control unit stops receiving data from the radar antenna, for example, due to disconnected, damaged wiring, or a malfunction of the radar antenna, a loss of contact with the module will be announced as: "Caution, Radar antenna disconnected" and the control button lights up red.

GPS ANTENNA DISCONNECTION

  • If the main control unit loses contact with the GPS antenna, for example, due to disconnected, damaged wiring, or a malfunction of the GPS antenna, a loss of contact with the module will be announced as: "Caution, GPS antenna disconnected". The control button lights up red again.

GPS SIGNAL LOST

  • If the main control unit loses the GPS signal (you are in a tunnel, in an underground parking lot), "three decreasing tones" will sound. The control button flashes green. After the signal has been successfully captured, the LED of the control button lights continuously green again, and "two rising tones” will sound.
